What are the Rive
Among the most authentic expressions of Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG are the Rive: a term often heard in the world of Prosecco, with a very specific technical meaning. The Rive are an "Additional Geographical Mention" reserved for 43 micro-terroirs within the Conegliano Valdobbiadene area, each corresponding to a single municipality or hamlet.
The rules behind Rive Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG
Not every hillside can produce a Riva. These are steep, heroic viticulture zones where grapes are harvested exclusively by hand. The grapes must also come entirely from the same municipality or hamlet that gives the Riva its name, and the wine always carries a vintage on the label, entering the market no earlier than March 1st of the year following the harvest.
The Rive of Il Colle 1978
Each Riva tells a different story, shaped by its own microclimate, exposure and soil. Among our labels, we produce Rive di Rua, Rive di San Pietro di Feletto and Rive di Collalbrigo: three different ways of telling, glass after glass, the story of Conegliano Valdobbiadene.
